This was a clip of me doing dips the other day. I find dips a great way to build size and strength throughout the chest and triceps. My shoulders are healthy so I do dips on a regular basis. I do like to load them up as you can see here with 65lbs added. But I never load them to the point that I am only able to do a few reps. I like to keep the reps at 8 or more, for the most part I keep them around 12 once in a while I will go up to 20 per set.
To build a strong chest and triceps I like to up the close grip bench. That is the exercise I chose to max out on when working the chest and triceps.
